Changes to membership arrangements

VUHC membership expires on June 30, 2009 and there have been some changes to the way membership for underwater sports are administered here in Australia.

Under the new arrangement membership application and renewals are:
* Administered federally by the Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) rather than at a state level
* Done online at www.auf.com.au

On June 30, 2009 the VUHC's insurance policy expires and will not be renewed. As such people playing Underwater Hockey in Victoria will need to join the AUF for their insurance coverage.

Membership of the AUF includes:
* Membership to the Underwater Water Hockey Australia Commission
* Membership to the Victorian Underwater Hockey Commission
* Insurance coverage

2010 National Championships - POSITIONS VACANT

Tasmania is hosting the 2010 Australian Underwater Hockey Championships. The event is scheduled to be held in Hobart, Janurary 22-26. The VUHC is calling for nominations for Victorian Team Officials:

State team coaches (Junior, Women, Open & Masters)
State team selectors (Junior, Women, Open & Masters)
Team Manager
U18 team Chaperone

Interested parties please express your interest to the VUHC Committee via email (committee@vuhc.org.au) by June 30, 2009. Please include a brief outline of why you are suitable for the role (coaching/playing/professional experience).

The VUHC AGM will be held at MSAC on Sunday 14th December, 5:30pm. All positions on execute committee will be open for election.

VUHC Family Day: Lawn Bowls
What better way to kick of the underwater hockey winter season than a bowls afternoon for our talented members?

When: Sunday the 29th June, from midday until exhaustion!
Where: McKinnon Bowls Club, Tyrone Street Ormond (next door to Chooky's).
Why: To get the winter season rolling, congratulate the new champions of the world - Australian women. Cost: $10 adults (children free) for an afternoon of bowls and BBQ lunch.

Lunch will be served at 1pm. Drinks can be purchased at bar prices! Friends, family and partners welcome.
